Why NH Art Studios?

Meet Natalie

I have always had a passion for the arts. I enjoy being involved in creating and leaving my mark in the world.

I’m a qualified Foundation Phase teacher, and I’ve been involved in education for 11 years. I’ve loved the time I’ve spent teaching and growing as a professional — and continuing that journey, I now get to focus my energy on guiding young minds and hands through creative, innovative art classes.

That’s why I started my own art studio. I want to share the joy and happiness that art has brought into my own life with our community. Art isn’t only creative — it’s therapeutic, it stimulates critical thinking, and it lifts every area of a child’s learning.

Natalie speaking at a Newcastle community event

NH Art Studios has grown alongside the Newcastle community it’s part of. For two years running, Natalie has co-sponsored the Newcastle Winter Festival Art Gallery and its prize giving — an event that drew over 1,000 entries from schools across Newcastle and neighbouring towns this year alone.

She’s also provided product for a major women’s conference in Newcastle, exhibited students’ work at the Newcastle Show Gallery, and partnered with ATKV, Factory Plaza, and the Winter Festival team along the way. And more than a few of her students have gone on to win art competitions of their own.

None of that happens without a lot of real, local trust — built one class, one term, one proud parent at a time.

A little wooden world of its own

Class happens up a small wooden staircase, six metres square, perched just off the ground — the kind of space that makes art feel like an adventure before a single brush is even picked up.

Bear and Prince, the studio’s resident golden retriever and rescue collie-cross, usually supervise.
